Crafted to meet the needs of a young family that moved to this home from an urban apartment the residence was designed to be a relaxing family-friendly interior with an open and cheerful ambiance. Working on a tight budget the architects turned to materials that usher in plenty of textural beauty even while keeping the costs down to a bare minimum.
A sculptural wooden staircase links the two levels of the loft and a functional blend of artificial illumination and natural light give the home a merry vibe. The smart use of textures and bold colors drives away any sense of boredom even as the stunning terrace and rooftop garden complete an inimitable interior that seems to have a style of its own!
But that is where the similarities end as the new house was crafted using revolutionary developed by ETH Zurich which can be filled with different materials to change the level of insulation! The hollow wooden blocks are not the only planet-friendly feature here and you can also see reclaimed wood and other materials from the old house being reused to cut down on both wastage and construction costs.
On the ground floor is a small reception along with a coffee area that allows you to welcome potential customers and clients and offers a wonderful hangout for everyone working in the two levels above. Small niches provide smart conversation nooks even as the beautiful blue walls and exposed concrete surfaces usher in a modern-industrial style.
A small deck extends the living space outdoors and offers a tranquil retreat that lets the homeowners take in the beautiful hilly landscape and the lush green garden. Responding to the environmental needs of the area and keeping construction time and cost down to a minimum were project priorities.
