Wooden slats and a cantilevered top level create a striking street façade that sets this family home designed by GITC Arquitectura apart from its more modest neighbors! And on the inside it is the division of private and public spaces across two different levels and a double-height living space that define its modern aesthetics.
Not only does the existing annex seem like an organic extension of the large cabin structure but the exterior of the holiday home can also withstand the brunt of gusty winds that are par for the course here. A curved path leads to the private entrance and the interior of the home is simple minimal and Scandinavian in style.
Step in further and this idea of exclusivity is reinforced by a living room where the exposed concrete fireplace and the mirror on the mantel combine to create an artistic focal point. There is no lack of color inside this living space with the corner areas being utilized as quiet and comfy reading / conversation zones. Draped in simple neutral hues and warm wooden tones the kitchen and dining space exude a more transitional style with beautiful pendant lighting and skylights illuminating this space evenly.
Bright rugs that define individual spaces are a common feature throughout the loft with the dining room kitchen and living area nestled on the lower level and master suite additional living spaces and home office housed on the second floor.
Another striking feature of the residence is the perforated metal screen that filters out harsh sunlight while illuminating both the levels of the home. Custom fixtures such as the loft bed in the kids’ room and the colorful fiberglass bathtub in the bathroom make cleaning and maintenance a lot easier and turn the revamped into a breezy delight!
